PM sent messages Empty PM sent messages

Post by Bpoetic March 4th 2009, 8:09 pm

I'm using Invision. In my sent box, it shows PM's as if they're being sent out by others on my forum. It's a glitch, but I wonder if my members are getting their PM's right and if *I'M* getting PM's back from them properly.

Umm... you sure that your computer is not messed? This happens to me sometimes on other things (example: games) but not on forumotion. If you have Firefox you can try it on there and see if the glitch still exists. And if the glitch exists on Firefox, then try opening on Internet Explorer...

Hope this helps!

Thank you both . . .

Sanket - I HOPE it's temporary. It's a new forum. I don't have this issue on another forum (PP2)

Amandeep619 - I am using IE.

I'll update in a couple days . . . I hope this fixes itself.

Well, this does seem like a temporary glitch and might have to be fixed by Typlo. But, for now, I recommend you using Mozilla Firefox, if you are having the problems with Internet Explorer. This kind of thing does happeto me, in which my website categories look messed up and unorganized (hard to explain) but when I log onto my website on Mozilla Firefox, then everything sortes out.
Please report back after trying on Mozilla Firefox!

No, I won't be using Mozilla Firefox! This thing SHOULD work with IE; that it doesn't means it needs fixed.

JulieG . . . my other forum is phpbb3 and is fine . . . so see, that just shows there is something wrong here.

The duplicating thing, is not actually duplicating. I know, it just shows the sent message, & below that message there is again that same message. BAsically, its a # of replys between the member, similar to a facebook wall.

Sorry I dont, as it isnt me that has been having duplicate messages.

There are also two people who can send messages to some people, but not to others. I have checked their profiles and set up and cant see anything wrong. The messages appear in their outbox after they have sent them, then go to the 'sent' box as if they have been read, but dont arrive at the recipient.

They might have put them to ignore or blocked them.
Highly impossible that it moves to the sent box, without the recipient reading it. Neutral

I know about the registration email going late, but as far as PM's are concerned i have never seen that happen. I get loads of PM's here, to which i reply. I always get the replies immediately.

Sanket, I wonder if you might be able to get the techs to take a look at this problem. By the way, I'm bev. I'm just wondering why mail from rick, Joanne, Pass, Kat, and waldo are in MY sent box.

Thank you . . . .

Bev, So they are not members on your forum? Does this happen with all of the members or just you.
Does this problem still persist? Can i also get a link to your forum?
