I want to ask you about the Special rights! I want to allow mods to see the calendar and the members catalog!
I choosed "Mods" on the Special rights but this option, don't allow mods to open the calendar, or to see the members catalog....
Only if i chose "members" they have permition!!! But this allow to members have permittion too!

Re: Permittions and Special rights
You know when you just created a forum, There are two groups automatically created, Admin and Moderators. You have to put your moderators in that Moderator group. Only then it will work. You can't just simply create a normal group and name it Moderator. It doesn't work like that.

Re: Permittions and Special rights
magicm00n thanks ! but maybe is something you didn't understand!
There are two groups automatically created, Admin and Moderators and i made another one named it "VIP's", and the members group....
So i have 4 groups in my forum.... i want give the Permittion to moderators group to see the calendar and the members group! I can do that, only in the ACP->members and groups ->special rights ! right?
So i choose that only moderators have accsses to see the members group, and the calendar! but they can't!!!!!!
They can only if i choose "members" but on this way, the members, have the permition to accsses calendar and members group!
Another one... (never stops ) if somebody knows.... How can i give the permition to modaretors to edit the members profile??? is that possible???

Re: Permittions and Special rights
designersgr, you can go to
General >Categories And forums
Click on any forum name.
permissions tab
there you can give the ability for someone to create an event.(Calendar)
Now talking about viewing the calendar, if you in the special rights option make it for members, you give the right for all the members including moderators & admins.
When you select moderators, it gives right to moderators & admins.(Moderators here will include your moderator & VIP member group, if they are moderating any forum)
SO on & so forth. Hope you understood.

i have allready do that! They can't view the calendar... they can add an event, but they cant view the calendar
What about the other two questions??? how can they accsses the member group, with out the simple members can view this group, and how can i give the rights to moderators to edit the members profiles?
Re: Permittions and Special rights
Link to your forum? For your calendar issue. I am not sure what is happening.
Also, since you created a group through group adminsitratrion. Make the group hidden so that normal members are not able to view it.
To edit the complete default profile, moderators don't have that permission. Except for commenting.
If you have created a personalized profile field, you can select who can modify these
Who can modify the profile field value ?: Select Moderators.

After many days....
OK... my forum is this one (it's in Greek) http://happydogsworld.forumgreek.com/

Still have the same problem, and some more...
1) as i sayd before, the moderators, don't have the permission to see the callendar, but they can add an event
2) they can't view the members group but in special rights, i have choose "moderators" to see the members group
3)i want stop members to accses profiles....
4) i want to stop members, edit older messages, exept the last one
5) after edit one post, the system, add this at the bottom of the post "Last edited by Administrator on" I want to stop that for moderators and administrators, but to see that if a member edit own posts!

Re: Permittions and Special rights
1) So the moderators can see the calendar button, but are not able to see it?
Also did you add a calendar widget?
2) You mean the memberlist?
3) Thats not possible, until your remove the image of profile through display>Pics Management
4) General>Messages & Emails
Message edition duration limit for a member : Add here 2 minutes probably. So that they are able to edit their previous post. Or maybe 5 minutes, whatever you see suitable.
5) Not possible to do Sorry.

2) Yes I have choose moderators can view the memberlist, but they can't!
3) Ok, but if i do that, and i want to see one profile, i must go buck to the ACP!
4) done! This is only for members, and not for administrators, or Moderators, or VIP's group? right?
5)
Thank you Sanket!
Re: Permittions and Special rights
1) Calendar widget on the navbar? You mean button right?
2)I think it has been happening with many members. It could be because of the updates.
3) Yes if you do that, you will have to see the profile from the admin panel. So better not to do it.
4) Its for everyone i think.

Re: Permittions and Special rights
1) This too could be because of the updates.
2) You need to just wait, it will sort out.
4) So then the setting which i told, dont allow users to edit.
Then go to General>Categories & Forums
Click on any forum name
Permissions tab
Then set it so that the groups of moderators, Vip's etc can edit their posts.
