How to with pics

I am a new user, not particularly computer or graphics savvy, sorry.
How do I delete a pic that I do not want from my root directory box ?
How do I even get a picture to appear in background, so far I can up load them OK and even tell the thing where I want it to go, it is just not going anywhere on to the profile page ?
Your instructions say to just change the address code "above", above what and what code?, to what?
Am I better off to create a whole background in Publisher or some such and then upload that ? ASlways assuming that I can then get it to appear.

To delete pics from your root directory...
Log into the servimg acct at www.servimg.com and manage your acct there.

This is where you want to put the URL for background image
then hit save.
Changes might not happen if you have already installed a hitskin theme.

If you've installed a skin form hitskin and found that you can't change an image like the above, You can do so by going to CSS Stylesheet and changing it from there.
