Solved Usergroups Colors~Need staff members! Problem!

Post by Steel Fire Mon Mar 16, 2009 5:45 pm

Hey there,

I am having a little trouble with my forum.
Near the bottom of my forum, where is says "Legend" Then it says administrators and moderators in which ever color I want them to be.
Except, in my forum, I want there to be 3 of those; Administrators, Moderators, and General Moderators

I have already made the general moderators usergroup, and I set the color of it to green, (Admin is red and mod is blue) and checked off to color group members.

My problem is that, the moderators and general moderators both have moderator powers, except that I set general moderators to be able to moderate much more of my forum. But when I assign some members to be general moderators, and add them to that usergroup, there name still appears for who is online, as blue, (Moderator color) instead of Green. (General moderator color)

Also, Is there some way to add any other colors to that legend, and make members have that color on there names for the who is online?

Thank you so much to whoever answers this.

P.S. My forum is using phpBB2, and I am not willing to change.

You'll have to take that user out of the Moderator group, as well, when switching users' groups.

All of the general moderators are not in the moderator usergroup.

I think that the general moderators look the same as the moderators because the moderators are the default, anyone that has moderator powers look like moderators, that's just what i think.
What I need to know is how to fix it.

Any member that is placed into a group takes place of the color for that group.
Can I please see the link to your forum to view the problem myself?

Sure, No problem, except that guests, on my forum, can barely see anything on it,

Here is the link: http://aqwk.forumotion.com/portal.htm

Maybe, you can register, then I will activate your account, then you can see, just don't make any posts or anything.
Then, after, I'll delete your account.

Oh ok. Well I can't seem to see the General Moderators group on your Legend. You must have it set as a Hidden Group. Go see if you have it set as a Hidden Group, and if it is, set is as Open Group

The general moderators aren't on the legend, that's what I need help with, also to make the general moderator members name change.

The general moderator usergroup is a closed group, and if i make it an open group, then people may apply for it, and I don't want to have to deny them, just keep them from applying at all.

Oh! Now I fully understand. You will have to give it a little bit of time for it to appear on the Legend; it can take up to at least 1 day or so.

Also, Closed and Open groups are always visible, so don't worry about that. It's just the Hidden groups that won't tend to be on the Legend. I recommend you wait around a day or so (as said before). It will appear.

But, can I ask a question? When did you create the [b]General Moderator[b] group? If you created it about 2 days ago or so, then that's a problem.

Ever since I first made the general moderators group, it has been a closed group, and still is.
I made the general moderators group a little over 2 weeks ago.

Hey, I figured it out, the reason it wasn't working is because Colorize Usernames checked off in; Admin Panel>Users and Groups>User Options.

It's working now, thanks for your help.
