Competitions involving money Empty Competitions involving money

Post by Armaghgeddon March 19th 2009, 12:12 am

Hello.

Sorry if this has alrady been posted, but I havent been able to find something similiar.

I was wondering, would it be possible to hold a competition on my forum were members predict scores and whoever wins is given the amount named.

All members have to pay an entrance fee and the winner takes all.

And are there any idea's on how I can set it up.

Kind regards,

Armaghgeddon.

you could use points instead of cash, then they would have to pay the number of points they have

Just a suggestion Competitions involving money Mouais

Another website stole my mates idea - i run the website with him. They are offering £50 a week for getting all predictions right. We cant compete with that because we are both students. Instead we have decided to create a winner takes all competition.
So it is all about trying to get the members to come back to our website. Crying or Very sad

Well, I don't truley know if it's illegal to offer real money, but it's not soliciting. I just don't know. Are you talking about real money or Cash Mod?

I know this kind of a feature being used by a couple of soccer forums. However, you will just need to do it manually. Give points, deduct points.

Make a forum called predictions. Add a sticky post which will be updated with the points the users earns.

In this forum for each game, make a new thread. Tell them for correct scores you earn 3 points or whatever. When the game finishes, tally up all users points & add it to the sticky you had created earlier.
Do this for each game, go on adding points to the sticky with each passing game.

You can do it somewhat similar to the way i mentioned Wink
