How to delete post?

Help!
I've just set up my forum but this problem has always been bugging me from the very start.
The post titled: "Your first subject" has been there for a very long time.
I know its for the members to be aware of but I need to delete this post so that the public or others reading the forum won't get to see it.
How can I delete posts??

There should be an option (top right of the post) to delete. The icon is usually a small cross - hover the mouse over the icons and you will find the delete icon.
