private message notification/ portal activation

hi,

can anyone help? we need to turn on the message that notifys you of a private message...how do we do this?

Hello.

In Navigation bar > Profile, you have "Notify of new Private message" and "Pop-up window on new Private message" You have the choice to choose Yes or No.

the first option makes you receive a notification e-mail every time you receive a new private message on your forum. You must ensure they don't get in the spam mail (it's frequent with hotmail).

The second options makes a pop-up window open, telling you that you received a new Private message. But it often happens that they are blocked by the pop-up blocker of the browser, so some setting must be done to unblock them. There's currently a bug about the portal activation, many people posted about this on the French support (the address is in my profile)

I just add something.

Gizmo, the webmaster, came on the French support yesterday and he said that this will be corrected with the new version, when its test period will finish (see the most recent announcement in this section).
