new posts show as read

Hi new here sorry if this is in the wrong place or has already been asked. I couldnt find anything when i looked.

i am admin on a newly set up forum and all of a sudden when members log in all "new posts" disappear and show as read
this is happening on all member log in but NOT on admin or mod log in

have i accidently changed a setting in the admin panel?
the only thing i have done recently is remove a hmtl "front page" bit because everyone prefered to go straight to the forum.
could this have affected it?
it is annoying as i am being moaned at my the members and also posts are being missed

It's a normal thing, the server acts a if new posts are coming and they need to be erased, nothing to worry about, but also it can't be fixed. i can be suggested in the suggestions section though.

i am not sure what you mean.
when i log in it tells me there is new posts so i go the the "room" to read the posts and then the new post notice has gone and then when i go back to the index all the new post notice bits have gone

New posts automatically marked as read after an amount of time or if you've gone to that categorie, I'm afraid you cannot really toggle with this.

as soon as i log in i look for "new post" in that section click on it and it goes to "old post" as do any other new posts
but when i am logged in all new posts made then show fine no problem.
it is happening to all members and i am getting grief
