Signature Ignores 'Italics' Command

i wonder if you would be kind enough to help me out?

general posts will allow italics, but 'signature' will not follow italics command. this is true for me (admin) and members.

here is an example:
Post HotParadox Today at 11:16 am
it is working for general posting but not working in "signature" function. i will check it out and try to fix it.

test again:
jfeorufhurhdhfh notice it works ok in the general post.
[i:]I believe that since spending is the problem, it can not be the answer. I can't put it any simpler.[/i:] notice it does not italicize in my signature. also notice the odd colons : in the brackets\

What is the code that you post in the signature?

i'm not sure i understand. i'm not posting a code. as a member or admin you just go to 'signature', type in your signature of choice (and hit the italics icon, if you want it italicized).
as an admin (and as a member), my html is on/allowed, if that's what you mean; not sure what you mean, though.

Well you must be adding some text to it right? Whats that text that you want to italicize?

oh, sorry! just what i posted in my initial post here; in fact this is exactly how my signature appears, after hitting the italics icon and 'save':
