Why do you ask something like that?
You must have an new idea to get a popular forum, I think talk&share isn't a new idea.

Some good ideas would be advertising on as many forums as possible, or tell your real life friends about them, and ask if they will go on and post every day or so. Also, do something that will make guests want to join. Add an arcade section, that only members can see, and tell about it in a forum that guests can see and say, "Why join this site?" You might wanna search how to get arcade games to your website. here is one example.

What most forums need to become successful is originality. Your forum is a general discussion forum, and there are thousands of thousands of general discussion forums already made; so your forum is just one of those thousands of thousands. The most important thing is to be original and have something that no other forum has. You can always keep your forum's topic based on general discussion, but it would be a million times better if you have a much specific topic to generally discuss. For instance, maybe a movie that everyone likes, or a simple flash game. Just be original.
