master marc, is there a way to hide/restrict my existing forum from public view without creating an entirely new group, i.e. i'd like to be able to keep all the threads that are already there? from what i tried in the link you sent, it seems that i won't be able to hide the existing threads...thanks again.

just set the forum for members.do not allow any guest.
but remember if there are certain boards you want only to allow groups be sure to set them boards only for the groups you wish.
