People cannot register
I just made a forum, and wanted to create a new account on it. When I went to Register, it took me through the steps:
Accepted the Terms and Conditions, Made a user name, Put my email address, Put my chosen password, and then put in my password again to confirm. But it just takes me back to the first page(Registration Information), which I have to fill out all the name, email, pw.
Basically, my forums aren't registering anyone.
I have tried playing with the settings...
I've made it a Automatic activation board and tried, and then a User activation board and tried again, with no luck. I made sure "Allow Members" is on yes. My board is not under construction or on holiday.
I'm using a phpbb2 style board. Not sure if that has anything to do with anything. But yeah... help?
Thank-you!

Re: People cannot register
Sorry, thought I forgot something.
The url is: http://maeldyn.forumotion.com/
I've continued to fiddle with the settings, taking them off the ones they need to be on, trying to create, and then setting them back to the ones they need to be on and trying to create again. Still no avail.

Re: People cannot register
I'm still having problems with this issue
I don't know what to do.
When I try to register someone, it acts like there's an error or something, but it's just a blank box, I've changed the layout, to see if that would work, it didn't.

Re: People cannot register
I'm still having issues
I don't know what's going on. I made a password that was well over 6 characters.
Could it be Firefox?
EDIT: It's not firefox, IE does it too
This is what happens when I try to register... I go through the steps, and when it should create my account, it takes me back to the first part, and puts a box above:
Tried to resynch the forums, that didn't work either.
I reset all my private data, deleted cookies... that didn't work either.
This is boggling my mind and frustrating me. I came here because I used to use invisionfree and they seem pretty dead to me now. I really REALLY like these forums, they are really easy to use. I'm just a bit flustered that this one thing is happening
If other people can register, and I cannot, what does that mean?
And is there a way to register people/create accounts through the Admin Control Panel?

Re: People cannot register
OK!! I found the problem, I think...
I tried to register with an AOL email address, it didn't work.
I tried with a hotmail email address, and it did work.
Is there any way to allow aol email addresses to register?

Re: People cannot register
Hmmm...
Is there any setting in the forum that says users must register with different email addresses?
Because my admin account is the aol email. And i tried to register again with the same email I used for my registered person before(the hotmail one), and it wouldn't let me.
I had thought about that before, but couldn't find where to change that setting.

you can only have one account per email address.
but if your using the same email from another account then it would come up as saying this email was already taken. SO I'm stumped.
have you tried a full forum restore?

Re: People cannot register
This issue has been resolved.
It was because I was using the same email as my admin account.
Though, I'm not sure why the error didn't pop up saying "There is another account with this email". Because, when I tried to create a third account with the second account's email address, the error -did- pop up then. Just not when I was trying to create the second account with the admin account's email address.
Thank-you all for sticking with me through this.
