Solved Adding a Digg.com widget to my forum

Post by Parsonia June 13th 2009, 4:16 pm

Hi guys, I would really like to add a Digg.com widget from Link to my forum. Is this possible to do? If so, I'd really like the widget to display on the forum page, not the home page of the forum, running down one side of the forum.

Many thanks, and hoep someone can help me/show me how to do this.

Hi there, thanks for replying!

IIf I could ask you a question atall? What I'd like to do is have the Digg widget running down the left hand side of the forum in the emtpy white space. Could you let me know if this is possible to do, and how to do it? I'd be extremely grateful.

Many thanks

Modules (advanced mode) > Forum Widgets Managment

Underneath everything, there is a button that says, "create a custom block"
Click on that, and put in the HTML code for the widget you want.
Then give it a title and everything.
Then go back to the management, then click on "personal widgets" and drag the widget you made into the place it on the side you want it to show up on the page.
Click save under the structure, and then go back to the homepage. It should be there.

Hope this helped! Very Happy

Is it too wide or something like that? If it is, you can change that. You just have to just go back to the HTML in the widget and find where it says something like this:

Adding a Digg.com widget to my forum Widgethelp

Look for this in the structure:

width:435px;height:270px

Then edit the width and height. If it is the width, I suggest 170 pixels.

Hi again. Yeah, it is too wide and still displayes in the wrong place. Even after altering the width, it still stays the same, and looks wrong. I dunno. I'm gonna get a proper site/forum set up via elance I think. This whole forum sucks.

Thanks for ur help though!

No problem! Forums are messed up sometimes...
I used to have one and I couldn't change the theme until I set it to a completely different theme, and it took forever to find a good one lol.
