Problems with Close Topic. Empty Problems with Close Topic.

Post by Marcibanjo-BlueFalco Fri Jun 09 2006, 10:18

Everytime i close a topic, all my mods can reply cause they have the admin ability. But if i shut that down, they can't ban someone or something. So then they have the same rank as a member.

Any help?

(BTW the new features are good!! Thanks!! Very Happy )

Sorry but I can't understand what do you mean 'cause you have different ranks you can chose. So you can add someone to moderate, and he still will be able to ban someone, just like a admin can. Now the thing is that if you unable you moderators of course they'll be just as members, but then you can able some moderators to moderate only a type of heading an not another, but you can't desable a moderator to unlock a locked subject.

Knowing you are the admin, I dont now why a moderator of your forum would unlock a subject you've just loked ........ it doesn't make any sens for me. But however, no .... you can't desable à moderator to lock or unlock a topic. But then I suggest to tell your moderators, not to do so when you've locked a subject.

If that doesn't work, then you mods are no good, and then, in this case, just go in your admin panel, and switch all the reply button on "admin" instead of "all" That will do the trick, but it's not the best solution. That is why I suggest you to communicate with all your mods. I think it'll be easier for you. Wink

Sorry for double post, but he can delete the accounts and set up an another rank for him self. How can i block that? Cause i only can choose between: user and admin.

Look in the User permissions

Problems with Close Topic. Userpermissions18cx

Beside each forum, you have a scroll list where you can decide if the member is moderator or not in each section.

Sorry, I can't take any screenshot, because the Print Screen button doesn't want to work on my mom's keyboard. I have no problem on my computer, but I currently can't use it because of renovations in my room.

Ok, you helped me further. But you see 2 levels "user" and "Administrator". If i choose User he can´t ban, edit post or something. But if i change it to admin. he has control over my whole forum!

Can't you read?

Katt told you: keep him as a user BUT give him special PERMISSIONS

(P.S: sorry Katt for acting like a moderator, but this is really too hard right now - he's asking for it)

Hello ^^

That's very simple:

Just go to :

Admin Pannel Arrow User Admin Arrow Management Arrow Permissions tab

Then, in user level , select : user

Problems with Close Topic. Perms14oa

When it's done, on the same screen, simply choose Is Moderator in the menu in front of the forums' names Wink

Problems with Close Topic. Perms28zd

The user will be able to edit posts, etc... , but he won't be able to access the admin pannel Wink

Well I guess he doesn't no his own mail adress maybe. Tell him to check his mail adress to see if he's got it right ......... just in case of. And if it is correct katt will give you a link to test your mail adress.

Hello.

Ask your friend to do a Mail test on this site : http://www.dnsreport.com/

If he or you do not understand the meaning of the results, just put the link here.

Important : He must write the whole e-mail address in the mail test field.
