I would like to hear an answer from an expert on this topic, not just opinions or guests. I would like to know if html sites (normal sites) get indexed better than forums?

Well I am not the expert you want to hear from, but maybe the bump up will catch the eye of someone who is. But that wasn't really my purpose, I thought I would give you my thoughts on it.

From what I understand what gets the position of where a site is indexed all depends on how many hits it gets. How many people visit your forum, and on a regular daily basis.

I did some googling on the subject as well and I did not see anything to indicate that one is better than the other when it comes to the positioning of a site on a search engine.

I found

this info to be quite helpful in how to try to get your site the highest exposure on search engines.

Some of the things it suggested to do, such as a site map, you can find info on how to do that with your forum, in the FAQ's here on this support forum.
