How to limit moderators power

How do I limit what a moderator can do? I want my moderators to not have the power to delete posts.

im sorry but you cannot remove/restrict powers of moderator's.

u can only change their permissions of forums which they can moderate.. but u cant remove/restrict powers of moderator's

What i did to see if this worked was to hide the delete so they can only remove a post by the basket this can be done by going to your administration panel >> Display >>>Pics management >>
**Advanced Mode ** click on Buttons scroll down the page to the delete button and click Hide then go to the bottom of the page and save that should remove the Delete button..
now to remove the mods tools go to

Icons for topic's look down the page to find your Delete icon and hide that. that should help a bit but i'm sorry that is the only way i know to stop mods from removing a post for good...

ApeMan, that means that Administrator's can't see the IP either

Moderators cannot have their powers taken away, this is impossible as far as I know... but I guess you may just need to pick the right people for the job, and make sure they understand their role as a Moderator.

the best way would to be what ape man said. just remove or click the hide button for deleting post. then if a admin ever has to do it they can just put the icon back up delete the post the put it back again.

but now the mods will still be able to delete whole topics in there mod tools.
Actually you should never delete anything unless you really have to.You should tell your mods just to move any post to a designated forum to keep things as records. so i would just make a rule for the mods not to delete anything and if you see them doing it in the logs then ask them why and perhaps fire them... lol
