Post by someguy99 July 12th 2009, 1:43 pm

Can i have more than 1 theme for my forum? So people can change to the one they like?
Also this is a different question, but how do i allow guests to see the forum? I mean it reguires to register first now and thats weird. I dont remember visiting any forum like that.

for your first question...

I have to say no ... and lie.
forumotion doesn't yet offer automatic multiple themes.
but if you go to the suggestions forum and vote for the multiple theme changer, i bet it'll be created in due time.

And I lie, because the multiple theme changer is possible on forumotion forums.
It requires a load, a giant load of coding... you need to know CSS tip top, javascript and a tiny bit of php. There is a CSS hack that can create multiple themes. I have seen 2 examples, and I was supposed to develop my own... but I'm getting side tracked all the time.

the second question is rather simple.
to make your forum visible to guests you have to have at least 1 forum that guests can see.
you need to change the permissions of your forum.
admin panel-> general -> forums and categories.
pick a forum you want your guests to see (or repeat this if you want to have all forums open)

hit the edit permissions button and make sure guests can see the forums

It works! (2nd)
Can i ask more?
How to i bann a word? Because it wants a replacement for the word to be banned. I just want to not allow a topic or a post to be posted if that word is used.
To keep pornographic and illeagal spamming away.

The replacement words is what will be placed instead of the censored word.

EX; if you censored the work "dodo" and made the replacement "(censored)"
When someone posted "dodo" it will be automatically replaced with "(censored)"

Yeah but i want not to allow posts with a certain word. For example if a post has the word 'p*rn' it wont allow that post to be posted.
