How to make homepage?

I am wondering how do you make a homepage like that where you can post news and stuff so that the forums aren't the homepage?

Hello,

you can use the HTML page, and activate it as the homepage.
Location: Admin panel >> Modules (tab) >> HTML Pages management > Activate as homepage (you must insert a link to forumotion.com for it to be set as homepage) > Put your information is the big box, feel free to play with coding in there too Wink

The thing is idk too much about coding. How do you make like news bulletin boxes/content boxes? ty so much

I clicked preview and it was just a blank, white screen with the words I typed there.....

If you only put text in than thats all that will appear.

You need more than just text if you want it to look decorative. You need a background, a nice banner, some buttons, and etc. to have a great html page.

That's pretty easy. What you do is go to the Display tab in the admin panel (Display -> Pictures and Colors -> Pics Management -> Advanced Mode) and grab the link for the image. Then, go to your HTML page, and place in this code:

Code:: <body style="background-image:url(LINK TO YOUR IMAGE HERE);background-attachment:fixed;"> </body>

i found the easiest way to create things such as this or anything else you might want to place as html.Is to create everything you want on the subject board using colors text alignment images, banners. etc.

do it all with bbc and [img] tags. the you can preview it like you were about to post it.
once you have everything like you want it to appear. Copy all the content then past it to your home page message and click save. what this dose is convert it to the html format. then just simply copy that again. delete it form the homepage message hit save then copy to your html page..

so thats just a few pointers. it is really easy that way. especially for those who might not know to much about coding.
