How to make my forum private

I have read lots of posts, but can't seem to find the answer I need.....

I want my forum to be private....only want registered members to be able to read posts.....can anyone tell me how to do this?? I've visited other forums that were private, but I can't seem to figure ouy how to do it myself....thanks!!!

You can disable them from viewing the forum.

Administration Panel=>General Tab=>Forum=>Categories and forums=>Choose forum=>Permissions=>View and read=>Un-mark guests=>Save

Keep doing this to every forum,and guests will not be able to view your forum,

Another question....I assume that I need to click the 'members' tab on 'write and reply' in order for my members to respond to posts???

Yes, you should disable guests from posting if they can't view the forum,
