Banning His IP Address? Moderators needed..
Okay, so there is this member on my forum that keeps sending innapropriate messages to my members only through private messages.. and I'm not sure how to ban him without him making any posts. I already banned all of his emails.. and he keeps making more. Can I still ban his IP address if he made no posts?
Somebody just lock this.. he's cloging up my question -.-

go to Administration panel -> Users & Groups -> "Users" Ban control
Then go to the second editing form you see "Ban one or more IP addresses or hostnames"
Fill in his IP and press save

There is nothing to not really understand.. I go to his profile, and there is no IP address, and I can't use a post because he didn't make any..

Can you go into his profile on your admin page and set it so he can't PM members?

Yes, but I'd like to ban his IP address (which will not show up) so I can stop him right in his tracks

That won't do any good actually...
Using proxy/ip changer/ip hider/ is the easiest thing to do. For example Tor. Different IP with a single click. And he s back again.

Jenny as Taro has said it is becoming easier and easier for annoying members to use such proxies blocking you from viewing their Ip's or their correct Ip's in general really.
The best thing you can do is keep getting rid of them as fast as they return. Eventually they will get bored and move along elsewhere. I have seen this many times before.
And since this problem has been marked solved, I will lock this topic now.
