Change size of whole forum

I was wondering if it's possible to actually change the full width of the forum, because by default it fills most of the screen, but i wanted to change it so the whole forum itself is smaller, similar to this

general > configuration > under Pages structure youll find Forum width (number or %) :
change it to hat you want

Unfortunately that doesn't work, it doesn't change anything about the forum at all; it just stays the same size. For reference, this is the forum, and if you view it in a 22-inch monitor the header image is repeated slightly, although when viewed in any 4:3 monitor or in the preview in the admin panel, it looks fine.

If you have Widgets and want to make it bigger, get rid of the widgets. If you dont have widgets, its the biggest it can go, if you want it smaller, add widgets.
