How do I make a standard rank and a promotions system with ranks?

I hope this tread is on the right place, then sorry if it don't.
My question is: How do I make a standard rank?
I tought this forum have it?
At my forum people need to register, and then I have to change their rank by myself.
Well how do I set a standard rank?

How do I set a promotions system?
I activated the point-system, called it 'Rankpoints.'
When someone had 1.000 rankpoints I have to change their rank to te next one.
Can I activate someting, when someone had 1.000 he promotes automaticly?

You have to set the rank to Non-Special, and than set a post limit,

for questions 1 use post limit (0)

For question 2 use post limit (1,000)

I didn't meant the posts.
People on my RPG forum didn't get points when they reply a message in the news forum, but in a forum where they can meet other people, they would get points.
So is there also a 'point-promotions' system?

not getting you mean users are not getting points ?

Yes, I meant that and activated it before I placed this tread.
The problem is; when someone have 1.000 Rankpoints, they have to promovate automaticly in the next rank.
Is there any script for?

hmm i think you should ask a coder . ok tell me how much do the user get per post and per topic so if it makes 500 posts it make sit 1000 points .

Its a RPG Forum. If they answer in a news topic, they DON'T get any points. But when they answer in a topic where they could meet other people, they get some points.
So if there is a script for promovations via points, I like to hear.

Also, special ranks are the ones that ARE NOT decided upon ur post count.
The ones that change with ur post count are the ranks with the "special rank = no" and a number in the "minimum post" box

but sorry... that is not possible...
you can only hand ranks automatically out by post count
but not with the point system...
so im afraid you have to do the same as you have done the whole time...

but you could go to the suggestion section of this forum...
and look if its already been suggested and vote... if not.. suggest it yourself
