html page as I created to be my home page not working

Hi all, I have created a html page that I wish to be my home page. I have added the link to forumotion as required and for some reason my home page is still my old home page. I have set it to home page as instructed in the help section as well. Here is what I mean

This is my original home page

Then I created this html page and I wish it to be my home page when someone visits the link www.samthecasinoman.info

http://www.samthecasinoman.info/main-h73.htm ( want this to be my home page )

Try to do it over again,

First,before you select it to become your homepage, add the link to forumotion on the html page,then choose it to be your homepage,

ACP=>Modules Tab=>HTML=>HTML pages management=>Press =>Use this page as homepage ?=>Yes=>Save

If you get an error message saying that you have not added the link, then you'll have to select the yes option again because it will automatically swich to the no option.

Thank you but this didnt seem to work. There was no error stating anything because I did post the link prior to making it my home page. But for good measure I did it again just to be sure as you suggested.

Im wondering if it has anything to do with the page I have right now in ( portals ) being set as home page. Which I cannot remove

Modules>> Scroll right down to the bottom>> HTML Pages>> Click on the html page you have created>> Tick set as homepage.

Um, I think we have decided that has already been tried.

There's probably too many characters; or do you have the word "buy" in the HTML page? Remove it or replace it by "purchase."
^^ That should work, if not, then it's a glitch.

I cant imagine a homepage as small as the one I created having too many characters and the word buy is not on the page at all. So what is my next step?
