Layout on different section or category ?

Is it possible to have different layout or color when you enter certain section of the forum? Let's say the layout for support forum will be blue just like this forum right now and then you enter the graphic designer section...the layout change to purple.

I remember placehold working on a similar tweek. I too have tried.
It is possible with a php code and css hack, but it doesn't always work.

Since all the forums are generated with the same coding you can't specify the different color levels.

But I've seen a site that has the main category headers yellow and when you enter the forum it goes blue. but it blue in every forum. this is done via CSS
