Custom Rank Title

I really want custom rank titles to be avaliable. This is where at a certain rank you reach (or if the admin chooses, you don't need a special rank) you can go to your profile and cange your rank title to whatever you want. What do you think?

Only Admins may add ranks to a users name, though.

I don't think you get it. The option I am asking for is so that a member can edit their profile, and edit their title. It's avaliable on this forum when you hit level 10...

Why Would you want users editing their ranks? Ranks are based on Staff Votes and they choices. I don't want to see ranks that are stupid and don't have a point without the Admin Approval.

It's a Rank Title, and other forums seem to like it. Once I get my own sever I will add this to my forum.

I would LOVE this feature! Many other forums have it. I mean, if you want the person's title to be known, just have it in your tag. It looks weird me having a tag with the title and then the title again under that.

I think you misunderstood the intention. When a user hits like 500 posts, instead of being called a (example) top poster (that is different levels for post count), they can change the "top poster" to something that they would like.

I think you interpreted ranks as in GFX designer, Moderator etc.

ipbfree.com has this feature avaliable, so i'm thinking of switching to them. Plus they have an arcade page avaliable, aswell as sub forums.

An Arcade is easy to make with a little bit of time and patience, so if that feature is what is drawing you to a site, then so be it. Also, Forumotion allows subforums, or at least we have them on my site, I think...

Just create a custom profile field.

1) No, admins should have to do it to authorize it. if members had that kind of responsibility, they could change there rank 2 make it say admin with the officila admin rank and trick users. HECK NO

i agreed! thats Why in my forum when i made that cutsom rank title i thought about it very well! and i found that when i make it i could let the members do theyr own custom title to apear WITH theyre ragular rank name!

This is something the amdin could choose if they wanted to add to their site or not, so the "admin" title issue is up to them.

Plus, I don't really care anymore because I already switched to ipbfree.

I sort of like the Idea, Admins have there username colored, well at least for me they do, all the Elite Staff does. Plus if it had the thing of where you can ban words from the list, then i don't see the problem in having the feature. Among those banned words that users can't use will be admin and others staff ranks, along with swear words.

In concerned to people who are worried about tricking users, that was going through my head as well and I know where you are coming from. But when I think about the idea then i get where he's coming from in having users show off there creativity when creating user titles. Also I know about the feature of creating regular ranks.

It would also be pretty cool to have a shop like VBulletin forums.

I'm kinda in the middle with this one.

Advertising is violation of the rules, and you could make your own arcade. These days I fear people are becoming too lazy to even bother making things themselves. While there are people who interprate their abilities and test them.
