A solution found for the servers!

We have had for some time, downtime and slowdown due mainly to a new provider for our servers. This service, that we had been advised by top IBM engineers, was meant to optimize and anticipate the traffic increase on your forums and our servers.

We bitterly regret that provider choice which currently and after several days of research and development, was unable to provide a stable solution.
Therefore, we decided to leave the service to join back to our previous provider. This change will take place within hours and we are confident about the result.
These new servers are ultra-efficient and will provide you with what we've promised : faster forums, more efficient, 99,9% uptime and enhanced security for your data.

During this migration, your forums will suffer delays. Do not worry, your forums do not risk anything, this maneuver is controlled and your forums should regain their vitality very quickly.

We are still sorry for the inconvenience caused, we fully understand the bitterness generated by such issues.
Therefore, as soon as the stabilization of your forums on the new servers will be established, we will make a gift to all our users and forums. o)

A note for users with blank page (Error 500) and users that have customized templates :

Simply go to http://yourforumaddress.com/admin and browse through Display > templates > and browse all templates categories where you've got customized templates WITHOUT touching them, and it will simply be fixed.

For all other users that had customized templates, you can now use them freely again.

I have only modded one, minimally, so I dont think that one will make a difference, I am not going to take it out!

viewtopic_body is the template I modded. I can't remove it, it says can't be empty. If I delete it all together...how do I put it back?

Hej M don't delete the code... Just copy it... You can delete it when you click on the red X icon

Im sure they are trying to sleep. we are all in different time zones. which really makes it frustrating for everyone, and are probley tired of all the complaints. Is there a time when they expect all of this to be fixed? More updates would be very helpful.

My Sugah's Place forum seems to be back up and running (thank you, forumotion), after being offline for a few hours earlier today.
My question is this: Two friends of mine who have Forumotion forum have not lost any of their emoticons. Most of the avvies and my uploaded emoticons have vanished at Sugah's Place. When I tried to reupload, it wouldn't let me. An error kept occuring, I believe.
Is this temporary? I had 150 of them and would hate to have to replace every single one, but will, if I am able.

Also, will we be able to use an html page as our main/index page, as originally promised with this update? Is there a list of all the upgrades somewhere?

My site is still down... for 12 hours now.... When I try to log in.... NOTHING I'm being redirect to forumotion.com. I'm not hearing anyone having the same problems as I have with my site.

I'm very concerned, cause I wasn't able to make a backup of the site, cause that didn't work. I hope I didn't lose months of hard work

I know everybody is trying to solve this as soon as possible and I appreciate that, but I have no way of informing my members, cause all email addresses are on site.

Can I please have an answer that my data is not lost without a backup.

I get it that I need to copy the Template. But if I hit the red X...how do I add this template back? there is not green plus sign to do this....

The template I modded is In General > Viewtopic_body

Everything seems fine for me exept for the missing smilies and avatars I added.

The only person that can speck about the techs is Typlo, I myself can't cause I have no contact with techs besides Typlo.

Your forum is fine from here. Try cleaning your Cache

The backup isn't working cause we were switching servers. It will return to normal soon as the techs get all the server problems fixed.

Doesn't look like your forum is even made.

the board was made early April and we have just started to change the content, after the cleanup and new subsections, we only had 20+ some posts left

You've got to update them. You're hosting on your site? You have to find the new code to add, before it was /album/49 now it's /album/1712/49 for me (including more, just an example)

That really sucks, because I updated all of them recently and I have to do it again. Especially when I have hundreds of topics to update!

Mr. Mario, I did as you said. Cleared the cache (temp files, cookies, history, etc., etc.).
I am still not seeing 85% of my emoticons and the little images on my front page (certain threads have tiny emoticons, too) are still not showing up.
That did not seem to work.

What do you make of this? Several people have reported to me that they are seeing nothing but Xs where images should be, too.

The only thing I would tell you is to re upload them.

I have tried to re upload my smileys but it won't do it ? and the only Avatars that are showing are those hosted by an outside host like photo bucket

It keeps giving me errors. Won't work!
