I would like to add a link to an external chat in one of the buttons of the navigation bar.
I would like to use there the same username used in our forum. For this reason I would like to send this parameter in the link.

I would need to create a link like this
http://www.mydomain.com/chat/flashchat.php?username={ USERNAME }

I read something about the tag { USERNAME } (without space) that will display your username ( Using php in posts is called being a smart ass... Stop it ), but doesn't work in the navigation bar.

As an additional thing, I tried to write even in our forum to write the address using the following

[url=http://www.mydomain.com/chat/flashchat.php?username={ USERNAME }]my chat [/url] but, as you can see doesn't work, because the { USERNAME } seems to break the BBCODE URL.

writing simply
http://www.mydomain.com/chat/flashchat.php?username={ USERNAME }
will not work in case the username has some space (in our forum usernames are Name Surname).

I'm mainly interested into have a link in the navbar, though.
Thanks for your support

username in a link Hello

You cannot insert BBCode into links, it just doesn't work username in a link 465297 username in a link 465297 username in a link 465297 username in a link 465297

If you want some BBCode variables I suggest you look here
