Chatbox Background and border

We just set up a new forum and everything is great except that the chatbox default background color is the same as the default text color so nothing shows up. Also the border runs right through the text entry box and does not change even if the size of the chat box is made bigger. I'm sure this is a css thing but I have no idea what I need to do to fix this.

try using firefox as ur browser, i think ur using IE,If that doesent work then try to take out the chatbox then put it in, if that doesent work then u need a new background and stuff

We are all using firefox. If I view it in IE the chatbox looks okay but all the icons show up with a white box around them. We'll just keep tryiing different skins I guess. Thanks for the help.

Please can you post a screenshot of the chatbox so i can see what's going on. I guess it can be fixed via CSS, but i need to see what the exact problem is.

Admin Panel
Display
Colors
Text Color (Top)
Change it to #000000

Save & Complete

Done and it still looks the same.

That's strange.. I installed the exact same theme and did the same changes and it worked..
Have you tried using a different browser, you're using Safari if i'm not mistaken?

I'm using Firefox. On IE the chatbox looks fine but the topics show up with boxes behind them. It looks the same on Safari as Firefox. There is a column to the left of the names that should show times, those are all white. Sorry but I don't know how to do any of this. All we really want to do is change the background color of the chatbox and fix that bottom checkerboard pattern that runs behind the text entry box and icons. Oh well.

oh i think you want to change the background color.
that should do it.

Admin panel>display>colors


Scroll down to (background color) change it to what you like then hit save that should do it.

if i am not misteaking you most likely have #FFFFFF in there right now?

That seemed to do it or at least close enough that we can use it now. Thank you guys.
