Text and background color

I just saw that someone else had the same problem - it was resolved, but doesn't say how.

The text of the calendar drop down (month, day, year) as well as jumping to different forum dropdown, are black text on black background and I cannot seem to fix this. I'm using the "Glowing Red" by Hellboy.
