Making Blog and Forum with Similar Design

Wasn't sure if I should put this in design problems or script problems......

Basically what I want to do is I am building a site......a fansite for a game......

So I have a blogger blog which will serve as the home page and it looks like this....(Unfinished)



and my forum.....



What I want to do is make them look as similar as possible......

I need to change the white background from behind the topics and categories and I wanted to have the same grayish white background for the back of the header logo...... I got the skin fro hitskin.com and changed the background so at least that is the same the CSS is super messy on the skin though.

Can someone please help me? And can you be detailed lol I'm not pro so it might be hard to understand.
