chatroom, chatbox is it easy to set up

I have a small closed/hidden forum.

We've had a request for a chatroom.

How easy it it to set up? Does it work ok? What is the minimum number of users for it to work. I'm assuming it is free? I have a forum without portal with one widget (column) on the right. I don't want to change to a portal and a forum. And the forum should stay closed and not visible to guests.

What is the difference with a chat box, is that like a shout out box?

Any advice would be welcome.

And are there any links to FAQs?

You just enable it in your ACP.
You can decide whether it shows at top/bottom of forum.
Alternatively you can have it hidden, but for a tiny link saying "Join Chat".
When you click on that it opens a separate page.
It is free.
You need more than 1 member for it to work ideally.
You can of course chat to yourself like I do.
A ShoutBox is similar but, generally you need to create a widget for this.

thanks for that. I have found it Hope it's easy to operate for the members. Don't really want to get involved myself. Excellent that should keep some people on the forum happy.

If you opt for the visible then simply clicking on the Login button of ChatBox will allow you access.
Then you can see where to enter text etc.

I tried to hide it but didn't see anything. Where does this link appear?
