Category/forum Question

Can (if so how) I shrink forums into the category, so that when you click the category it brings you to a selection of the forums which you may click to bring you to topics started in those forums?; insted of having the category with the forums under it all in the open? I think my forum would much more organised if I could learn how to do this.

If that was to complecated (I dont know how else to say it) please say so.

Leet me clear myself up a bit. I have a category. In this category I have a forum. In this forum I have 5-6 subfourms. When I click the forum, it comes up with the sub forum selection, but the sub forums also appear under the bigger forum in the main board index. How do I make them only appear when Someone clicks the main forum containing the subforums?

Also, could I make it so that the forum just has one big category, but when you click a forum it brings you to a bigger selection of the main topics, and it keeps going. Kind of like getting from more genral to more specific but organised.
