recent topics widget code help

first of all a big hello to everyone


Right guys im helping a friend out with his forum and basically he wants to get the recent topics widget and place it elsewhere on his forum

something like we do with the chat box iframe code so that it follows to each page in the announcements area so far we have managed to get the widget to display but it does not update with any recent posts only the ones in it when we copied the code

is there an easy solution to this like the chat box iframe code

if so can someone please provide me with a code thanks
