Forum Duration
Hi,
My forum is taking off, now considering going bigger. I would like to know what guarantees Forumotion gives in regard to the duration of forums. I searched for an answer and found this old discussion now been locked:
Can you explain what do you mean 'going anywhere'? Is it in Forumotion site being shut down?
Also, if Forumotion is shut down, for whatever reason, what would happen to my forum? just cease to exist? do I get a warning?
I know I am not allowed to export my forum database else where (as in to a different host) which is fine but in case of Forumotion shutting down would I be able to continue my forum activity somewhere else?
or export the database? to a new host or even to my own website (if I create one to support the otherwise 'dead' forum...)?
If not what will happen to my forum data base?
thanks for your time

As long as you keep appropriate content in it

Which i don't see them going anywhere for a long time.

Re: Forum Duration
Good questions but there is no answer to those as Forumotion isn't shutting down anytime soon. As long as you keep your forum with activity it will remain here.

Hello,
According to Typlo, if forumotion were to ever go away, they would allow users' to export their DB's and upload them on other hosts'
But that isn't likely to happen for a very long time, so don't worry about it for now
