User cannot receive group messages

For some reason a user cannot receive messages sent to his usergroup. All other members in the usergroup do receive private messages as can be seen in my message outbox. I've tried remaking the group and he still cannot receive messages. The really perplexing thing is he CAN receive messages directly if its only sent to him, and not the whole group.... so I don't think its a user preference setting.

Any ideas?

Can you ask the user to check the profile/preferences option "Warn me of PM from a PM mailing : " is set to YES and not no or "No PM Mailing at all"
