In need of transparent image

I have been trying to find a way to make a transparent image, but don't know how

I am not looking for the entire image to be transparent, I'm trying to get the text on the logo transparent, I don't need the rest of the logo. Can anyone help? Thanks

Jeremy just so you know for future reference you can do it with Painshop Pro, Photoshop, Paint.net etc. by selecting areas are pressing delets - then save as a .png

A New issue has come up, I'm going to have a green background behind the logo, meaning the text isn't visible. Could someone make everything transparent in this logo but the text? Thanks
