Flashing messages button

I making my final graphical update for my forum and when i got a pm from one of my members it only shown the pm new button still, how can i get it like Editboard's, to flash the new button color

The flashing P.M button in our navigation bar is because that's how it was made. It's a gif rather than just a picture, no fancy CSS or whatever is involved in that case

so your saying i should make it into a gif pic instead of a png? if so thankyou for telling me.

No problem, go it sorted out, i got some new image editing software (Thanks to Katt's link ) and i just made them how i liked and hosted them.
