Hello Forumotion staff,

I recently PMed some moderators and the administrator Lucky about an individual who goes around "hacking" forumotion accounts, and sometimes even getting the owner's accounts and completely destroying their forums. Some of the forums that have been victimized are:

http://duelkings.forumotion.net/forum.htm
http://turboduelacademy.forumotion.com/
http://darkarmeddragon.motionforum.net/
and http://newda.net/

This guy calls himself Kira and supposedly wants to play games with these forums, and bullies them into submission by deleting their hard work. Duelkings has suffered the most since they were completely deleted and as you can see only have one forum section when they used to have way more with thousands of posts. I've been told that strong passwords will keep forums safe, but it seems this guy is keylogging, and since forumotion doesn't seem to be able to stop this guy I'm seeking help to see how we can further prevent these hacker attacks.

This is one of the posts made by the person using one of our member's accounts:
kyosuke kiryu wrote:this is KIRA talking , i jut proves my powers in DK , just like what you asked me and i did it now because Kyosuke Kiryu is not an admin here like yesterday , please PM me or find a way to reach me if you want to make the agreement now , if you didnt reach me ill hack this place in christmas.

EDIT: Do not post here, you are unwanted and no deals be made with you. Goodbye.

of course the post was edited by one of our administrators. If you want to see the posts for yourselves please check here: http://turboduelacademy.forumotion.com/news-announcements-f4/in-need-of-more-staffz-t3307.htm

The attacks have become rather annoying and are preventing our members from having any fun without the though of some hacker deleting their posts sometime soon. Please we are no longer able to deal with this ourselves and that's why I'm posting here.

A few things you can do.
1) Keep changing passwords after every 15 days.
2)General>Forum>Security
Confirm password to administration access : Yes.
3) https://help.forumotion.com/frequently-asked-questions-f5/internet-security-on-your-forum-habits-to-be-avoided-t51.htm
4) Use the forumotion Utilities in case of forum being hacked. If that does not work, immediately inform a staff member on the support forum to pass on the message to Typlo to retrieve your forum.

I would not suggest reinstalling the OS. Chances are the software are still on and can cause more problems. It would be best if you contact a support for your computer and have them remove it.

I agree with Mr. Mario, no need to reinstal the OS - a good spyware program should suffice, e.g Spybot - S&D, or just type keylog in a search engine and you'll find suggestions.

Besides, as a precaution, do not use your founder account to administer your forum - make a new account, give it administrator rights and use it in your everyday forum activity.
