New message icon not working

I'll try to be clear... When someone post a message on my forum the brown dog of that forum changes to black... at least that's what should happen... However, it doesn't seem to be happening.

I looked at all the possibilities, check that I had the right icon in the right places in the administration board but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

I also looked on the french help forum editboard to look for help but found nothing.
