Moderator / Portal help

I know how to set up the portal, but my question is how do I make it the first page visitors see when visiting my site?
Right now the forum is the first page. You then have to click portals tab up top to get to it. I want portal first, then click forums tab to see the forums.

Also...

I know how to set up moderators for the forums, but instead of it saying:
Moderators: Administrators

How do I make it list the members names that are admin?
Example:

Moderators: Person1, Person2, Person3

I want their names in color also, so that they match the Administrators group in the legend.

When a visitor first visits a forum and you have your portal set up, the guest will first be directed to your portal, unless he added this (/forum.htm) at the end of your forum's link which will direct to your index,

For the moderators, Simply create a group named by your moderators/ or have a group named by one of your moderators(ex: ben) and give them permission to moderate on forums you want them to have moderation powers then adjust this settings:

Admin Panel > Display > Structure and Hierarchy > Display Forum Moderators > set it to yes > save

Portal is set up. When guests visit, it still goes to forum not portal.
Not sure why.

If I add my name as a group, and set permissions for forum moderator, my name still appears grey. How do I make it appear blue to match my legend?
And yes, I have the color selected, but still appears grey?

you have to set your portal as the home page.But remember if someone is still using the link to the forums index page then it will go directly to the index regardless where the page is set.

Admin panel>Display>Homepage>Generalities.

just set the home page to portal and hit save.


OK now for the colors.. be sure you have the mod group the color you want in the group settings and it's also displayed.

Also be sure that your admin group is in the top of the list.
Because it sounds that you may not have it in the right order and if you are in more then one group then it will appear as the group color according to what order it is in.

So try that and let us know how you made out.

Now for the forum moderator display name/color...

you will see exactly what I'm trying to do...
See how the member names of their admin are listed beside Moderators under each forum...how do I do that, while making my member names appear in color like theirs are red?
I would be very grateful if you can help me out.
