Admin edit button? Empty Admin edit button?

Post by lisa1302 19/8/2010, 06:52

Hello

I don't want the mods to be able to edit the posts of our members - I had search on here and found instructions on how to set it up - so tried that to unset it (as below)

Check that the moderator's have permission to edit posts
Admin panel >> General ( Tab ) >> Categories & Forum > Hit the X/Tick and tick the "Moderators" group for "able to edit a post" then save, and repeat with other forums.

- but I cant see the option for 'able to edit a post' - I have 'edit its own messages' which is fine for people to do - but I don't want mods to be able to modify other peoples posts

Can you let me know how I need to do this please?

Thanks!

I must be seriously blind

I have clicked on the advanced button! This is what I can see:
Admin edit button? 2010-011 is this the right place to be looking?! All I have is Edit its own Messages...no sign of 'able to edit a post"

We don't believe that a post should be interfered with - if a post is bad enough to need editing then its bad enough for the whole thing to be removed.
If moderators are seen to be editing bad posts - there becomes a feeling that they can do what they like on other posts and no one would be any the wiser.
