Automatic Ban Empty Automatic Ban

Post by StoneRaven 30/8/2010, 07:16

I had seen where some one asked if this was possible and thought hey that would be a great addition so I'm posting it up.

Automatic ban when a member collects 3 warnings. He or she would be automaticaly banned for a set amount of time that you would set in the admin panel, that way the ban length would be adjustable. But also keep the option to manualy ban a person indefinitely and or delete them.

So what do you think?

Warning bars are customized profiles and therefore can't be tracked.

I prefer it manual.
Besides, you've taken the effort to manually change their warning bar levels, you can easily ban them, it's just one click away Smile

I dont see this suggestion viable at all...(voted no)

Besides, warnings are personal, I mean, Staff is who decides what supose a warning and what not...

You can`t rely on a bot or an automated system to ban.

Human factor is the most important thing to decide if you ban a member or not.

The warnings would be manual from the admin or mods. But once 3 had been received then it would auto ban them for what ever set amount of time. So it still has to have a human to give the warnings.

Okay. Anyways, exist the possibility that, for many reasons, Staff don´t wanna ban this person, for example because there are very soft faults, or something, so I prefer the actual system, completly humanized Dawa

You're talking about an infraction system & the automatic bad feature?

It's a really nice feature and easy to use. I voted yes.

But...

In order for this to happen, forumotion needs a better infraction system that works like vBulletin's infraction & automatic banning features.
