Possible to get (not edit) the templates for phpbb 3?

I was wondering if it was possible to use the exact same templates that are uneditable in phpbb 3 and use them is phpbb 2 or punbb. Then we could add our CSS code to it and have access to template editing.

Of course this is a long shot... And I fully understand replies of frustration if this has been asked before.

I also understand if having the phpbb 3 templates would be worthless because they are in different code to phpbb 2 or punbb.

It helps a little, but I mean all the templates. Since they are not editable by users wouldn't there be a standard 'set' or would I have to get into the templates myself and edit them to taste?

Yes edit them to taste, if you know how to do it. If you are unaware, then i would suggest not to mess with it.
