Sticky option gone

What would cause the sticky feature to NOT SHOW UP?
I've done this many times and know how, but when i open a post in EDIT to make it a sticky, i see the options and those choices are supposed to be there, but they're not...why would those features go away?

I have read a lot of your posts question , those are very strange about that. Maybe you should do the scan virus or bugs for your computer.

I have AVG scan every night. My computer is virus free. I don't think that's it anyway. The sticky option is only missing on certain ones./

When you post the topic, have you clicked on the little + icon in the "Options" bar ?

As i said, i've done this many times; and i continue to do it with SOME of the posts--and i see the options, The options bar is open. But the normal/sticky/announcement is not there on some posts.

Try forum > forum permissions control > click on the forum where you got the issue, and see if the options are checked

already tried that. Permissions are correct. As a matter of course, i check the proper permissions when i create the forum. they are all the same except for a few private ones for moderators.

any other ideas?
