messagebox background and font color in chatbox

i want to change the message box of the chatbox ( where we type and enter any chat messages) background and font color

I seem to be using a theme which has the background and the font color in the chatbox as black which is not visible

i checked the CSS and found for the cbox -

-moz-border-radius: 0px;
-webkit-border-radius: 0px;
-khtml-border-radius: 0px;
border-radius: 0px;
}

i used that link to change the background of the chatbox. but i dont see any details for changing the background of the message box where we type the message

I tried changing the font color options but doesn't change for that particular message box
if i could change that or the font color in that box it would be enough for me
