News widit not showing up

I have recently added the news widit to my forum but it doesn't show up. I haven't messed with any of the settings so that can't be the problem, im usin phbb2

Yes it shows up on the admin panelland i sycronised it too but it isn't working Sad

I have seen this happen on my forum. What I found out is that if you pick a forum that has nothing but closed topics, it will not show them.

I have a forum called "Important Announcements" that has topics that are not open for discussion. I close them as soon as they get created so that they are news articles. Unfortunately the News Widget will not display CLOSED topics.

Is there some way around this?
