Storage Expiration Empty Storage Expiration

Post by Gothboy77 January 12th 2011, 4:36 am

Ok, so I have one question. Why is it that you have to keep paying for the same amount of storage?
Quit honestly I find it stupid. This is just like paying for a hard drive multiple times. Once you bought it, why do you have to keep paying for it?!

If I buy a domain name will that expire too? Will I have to keep paying for storage if I do decide to buy a domain name? Hell, if thats the case I would rather buy a domain name, and keep my storage, than to have to keep paying for storage that I HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT, mind you.

Is this just a glitch or do I really have to keep buying the same amount, just to keep it up? I am not using the gallery, I am just using the storage space for attachments. I know I can just as easily use a 3rd party storage site, such as Mediafire for free, but I find it better to do things "original"

yes, you need to keep buying your storage. For the domain, you will need to renew it when it expires. Thats the same for all domains thought Smile You never really own them

Well sorry to say, but I find that quite shitty. I respect you for answering my question, but if I am gonna have to keep paying for storage just for attachments then I guess I will go with Mediafire. This has 546.39 MB by default, FOR FREE.

Honestly though, I really don't understand why you have to keep paying. Especially when you have to go by months.

This means that I have to spend about 30 bucks a year to keep only 320 Mb or storage. Does the amount get higher with the more storage I buy?
30 bucks a year comes out to about 150 bucks for 5 years. With 150 bucks I could buy my own website and bandwidth and keep them forever.

I understand having to buy more storage, but buying time? I think there needs to be some kind of vote to get rid of the time thing.
