Would you like this feature for your forum?
'Smoother' posting
Hello
I've been thinking about new features lately, and I've got something on my mind.
First of all, if this was proposed by anyone else, I'm sorry, haven't got a chance to get through all the proposals.
Namely, I'm a member of a MyBB script-based forum and when you post a post in Quicky Reply Box and press the Post button you get mini popup which says 'loading' for 1-2 secs and when it finishes, your post is posted without getting the kind of annoying new page with this text:
You get live post without getting the page with the text above and new page with post.
Here is what it looks like (It looks much better live, this is just raw image)
Why should you apply this to forumotion?
1. It gives posting a smoother and more ellegant approach.
2. It's very faster and less annoying thing to do when posting quick replies.
I know it may take plenty of time to plan or code this because it surely uses some advanced jQuery or maybe javascripting, don't quite know, but everything is possible with skill and organized time.
Kind regards,
V.

Re: 'Smoother' posting
Why do you think that it's annoying? It's more anoyning to be transfered to new page and then back to the post

I certainly agree with it, as most sites I visit (YouTube, Facebook, etc) use something similar to that approach. I don't know much coding, so I can't help in that department. I can say, though, that such a feature would improve Forumotion so much more.

Re: 'Smoother' posting
I've hated that annoying window since the first day I created my forum. It's absolutely uneeded and it makes posting slower and less interactive. Since you have to have access to the editor's PHP to edit this, the only hope we get is that eToxic adds a mod most phpBB3 have: when you submit the message, the page refreshes and you get to the post you just submitted. Or even better, like on vBulletin: when you hit on "Submit", it gets automatically added below the last message, like on Facebook or Twitter.
I've suggested this on 2 other support forums already. The one in the Spanish site got 50 votes and was therefore "approved", and the one in the French site, that I posted not so long ago, has so far gotten more than 20 positive votes.
Let's hope that after having suggested and approved the same thing on 3 different support forums, they change this.
Oh, and I vote "yes", obviously.

Re: 'Smoother' posting
You so have my vote here its so slow the way it is now.
I hate when you make a vote in a poll it take you this silly page saying you vote has been made then you have to go and click on the post botton to post your comment also when you make the post and send it takes to long for the you have made your post page to change so adding this would really speed things up
and when you post on here you are took back to the top of all the posts again it really should take you to your post just made without having to scroll down the page each time.
