Remove age from registration

I know you can add custom fields etc when people register on the forum, but is there a way to not have them complete their age as part of registration.

I have had several people request it be removed. I have disabled it displaying in posts and their profile, but still they ask.

So here i am asking the experts, Can it be removed and if so how.
