Modifying required registration and profile info??

Hello, I'm new to Forumotion and have a question. Some of my visitors do not feel comfortable with all of the information asked of them in the registration process, mainly their phone numbers. This is hindering them from registering. Is there any way to modify the requirements of the registration process? And if so, how do I make those changes? Similarily, I have the same problem with the "Profiles" fields. Some of them are irrelevent to what my forum is about, like Zodiac, Humor, Hobbies, etc. I do not have the "x" icon to delete these fields, I can only modify the names of the fields. I can delete additional fields that I manually add, but that's it. So same basic question...can I modify/delete these unnecessary fields, and if so, how? Thanks in advance for your help and wonderful services.

To remove the Phone number field from the registration page, to the profiles from the ACP and edit the profile field then click no for "Necessarily filled ?"

you can't remove the default field but you can hide them, by unchecking the Display
